Peter proves his in-depth knowledge in Allan & Bath’s stringent Legal Test

Allan and Bath are delighted to congratulate their Home Guide, Peter Shakesheff, on passing the firm’s comprehensive legal test.

This confirms Peter’s excellent knowledge and understanding of all Landlord and Tenant law and the rules and regulations governing residential lettings.

Allan & Bath, as part of independent letting chain Leaders, ensure that their staff are qualified and fully competent in carrying out their roles by providing thorough in-house training which is based on the syllabus of the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP’s) Technical Award. The training is followed by a comprehensive Legal Test, which Peter passed with flying colours.

Allan & Bath’s branch manager, Tony Wilson, commented: “There is more to lettings than meets the eye; many regulations must be adhered to for the safety of tenants and to protect the interests of landlords. We have developed our stringent legal training to ensure that our staff are qualified to let and manage our clients’ properties lawfully, and that tenancies run smoothly for the benefit of both our landlords and tenants.

The Legal Test requires many hours of home study and a full day of intensive training, followed by a lengthy exam. Subjects covered include:

• An introduction to the English legal system

• Standard contract law and contract law relating to lettings

• Property management

• Complying with legislation to ensure the safety of tenants

• Protecting the interests of landlords

• Health and safety

• Personal safety
